MEETINGS

H.E.A.L. envisions a future where safe, supportive meetings are available nationwide, bringing healing and education to both individuals in recovery and their families. Our facilitators bring invaluable personal experience to every meeting. Whether they’ve lived through a loved one’s addiction or have struggled with substances themselves, they understand the challenges first-hand. However, H.E.A.L. goes beyond personal experience. All of our facilitators undergo thorough, specialized training to lead groups that are not only supportive but also structured and educational.

We focus on the key aspects of recovery: self-awareness, emotional regulation, accountability, and creating healthy relationships. Additionally, our facilitators are equipped to handle the unique needs of family members, offering resources and guidance for those supporting a loved one through recovery. Whether you are battling addiction yourself or seeking support for a family member, our meetings offer both practical tools and a community of understanding. H.E.A.L. is here to walk with you, helping you and your loved ones find hope, healing, and the resources necessary for long-term recovery.

FORMAT OF MEETINGS

H.E.A.L. offers weekly meetings for both recovering addicts and their supporters, providing a safe, supportive environment for each group.
To create tailored support, recovering addicts and their supporters meet in separate function rooms, except during general meetings, which are held regularly to foster unity and address any shared concerns.

General Meetings:

These combined sessions bring together both the supporters and the recovering addicts, offering a unique opportunity to build understanding and address issues directly. The guidance and support of the group ensures that any concerns between supporters and recovering addicts are addressed constructively, helping everyone align with the same goals for recovery.

Impact of General Meetings:

We’ve found that these combined meetings have a lasting and positive impact. They play a crucial role in ensuring that everyone is on the same page, fostering unity and understanding between both groups. This approach strengthens relationships, providing a foundation for long-term healing.

Lectures and Educational Sessions:

Each meeting includes regular lectures during the first half of the session for both groups. These lectures are designed to deepen understanding of addiction and recovery, ensuring that the core principles of recovery are communicated clearly. For supporters, we provide specific teaching sessions focused on their own recovery process. These sessions help them understand and heal from the emotional and psychological effects of living with someone’s addiction, offering practical tools and support to cope and recover themselves.

FOR THE PERSON IN RECOVERY

H.E.A.L. is here to guide and support you on your recovery journey. We’ll help you find the best path forward, educating you on the principles of recovery and showing you how to apply them to your life. At H.E.A.L., you will never face condemnation or criticism—only support and understanding.

We Help You Create a Plan for Recovery

At H.E.A.L., we’re committed to helping each recovering addict develop and implement a personalised relapse prevention plan. This plan is tailored to guide their lifestyle toward full recovery and lasting change. We believe in a recovery process that goes beyond just getting sober—it’s about building a life that’s truly transformed.

Addiction is progressive, and if left unchecked, it leads to devastation. Most addictions follow a similar trajectory, ultimately causing destruction if not addressed early. Whether you’re in the early stages of addiction or have already experienced its consequences, now is the time to take action.

If you’re using or abusing any mind-altering substances or engaging in obsessive behaviours, you may already be dealing with a problem—or on the brink of developing one. The key is to act before it spirals further. At H.E.A.L., we’ll help you recognize where you are, create a clear plan, and support you every step of the way to turn things around.

Recovery Is More Possible Than You Think

Recovery is not as difficult as the world and its statistics may make it seem. No matter the addiction, recovery is possible, as long as you’re willing to surrender to the process. It’s not about perfection, but about embracing the journey. Recovery is a lifestyle that can bring endless joy, fulfilment, and success. You have nothing to lose by turning your life around—and everything to gain.

Already in recovery? Keep going.

If you’re on the road to recovery, know that the journey doesn’t stop here. Staying on track requires commitment, and H.E.A.L. is here to help you maintain that momentum. We provide the guidance, direction, and support you need to ensure that you continue to grow and live up to your full potential. You are also in a unique position to help others who are still struggling. By sharing your experience, strength, and hope, you can make a difference in the lives of those still suffering. At H.E.A.L., everyone is welcome—no matter your past, your current circumstances, or where you are in your recovery journey.

FOR THE SUPPORTER

Supporters play a crucial role in recovery. It’s essential that they are educated about addiction and the recovery process. Understanding their own role and how to best assist in the journey of recovery can significantly impact success.

FOR THE SUPPORTER

At H.E.A.L., we place a strong emphasis on family unity and the active participation of supporters. We recognize that recovery isn’t just about the individual—it’s about the family as a whole. As such, we offer separate meetings for those in recovery and their supporters, while also regularly combining these meetings. This approach helps both the person in recovery and their family understand each other’s roles, challenges, and perspectives.

Healing for the family is just as crucial as healing for the individual in recovery. H.E.A.L. believes that while the person in recovery focuses on treatment, the family must also find their own path to healing. Supporters are often the unseen victims of addiction, and we’re here to help them heal too. Our support group serves as a platform for families to restore the emotional and psychological damage caused by addiction. We offer ongoing support to guide families through the process of recovery and help them learn how to best support their loved one’s long-term recovery.

Mediating Stress and Restoring Family Dynamics:- Addiction causes immense stress and tension within families. At H.E.A.L., we work to eliminate these pressures by mediating family disputes and offering guidance on healthier ways to communicate. Our goal is to empower supporters, helping them regain their voice and self-worth—especially for those who have been manipulated or emotionally abused through addiction. Recovery for the family is just as vital as recovery for the person in recovery, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND

Accountability is essential in recovery. Both the person in recovery and their family need to be committed to the process. Recovery is based on honesty, open-mindedness, and willingness, and when the whole family is on board, it becomes easier for everyone.

Manipulation is often a tool of addiction. For recovery to succeed, both the individual in recovery and their supporters need a solid support structure. By attending H.E.A.L. meetings, supporters gain the tools to identify and prevent manipulation, ensuring that the family works together towards healing.

It’s crucial that you, as a supporter, attend H.E.A.L. meetings to stay informed about the principles of recovery and learn how to best support your loved one. This shared understanding increases the chances of successful, lasting recovery for everyone.

Recovery is hard – Regret is harder.

Recovery is not for people who need it,

Recovery is for people who want it!
